Patagonia is the mythical-sounding region at the southern-most tip of Latin America. Stretching over Argentina and Chile it includes deserts, vast grasslands and some of the most spectacular scenery in the world; think glaciers sliding over snow-capped mountains, jewel blue fjords and ancient forests.

One of the highlights of the region is the Torres Del Paine national park. Book a tour to see the highlights straight away, including tracking pumas and spotting condors sailing over the mountains. To truly experience the park, hiking the trails the cross through this amazing landscape is highly recommended. You’ll cross through forests, along glaciers and past the iconic towering peaks the park is named after. There are hostels and guesthouses throughout the park meaning it’s possible to complete the most popular routes without having to camp or carry huge amounts of supplies.

The nearest town to Torres Del Paine is Punta Arenas. Looking out over the Strait of Magellan which connects the Atlantic to the Pacific, the town really feels like it stands on the edge of the world. Good day trips from the town include nearby islands and penguin colonies.
