One of Africa’s hidden gems, Ghana has stunning beaches, delicious food, fascinating history and safari parks teeming with wildlife. No matter what you want from your trip, Ghana has something for everyone.

The capital Accra has plenty to get you started. Visit the lighthouse at Jamestown for fantastic views over the city and out to sea. Get over any jet lag with a visit to Makola market. The sheer number of stalls, produce and shoppers make this an intense experience but a great way to dive head first into Ghanian culture. Find out more about the contemporary art scene in Ghana by visiting the ANO Cultural Centre which has a fantastic selection of events and workshops each week.

Outside of Accra city centre, there are some amazing beaches. Labadi beach is just a few miles from Accra and is popular with visitors and locals alike, but resorts like Anomabo Beach allow you to relax far away from the crowds on beautiful palm-lined beaches. If the beach isn’t your thing, head north to Mole National Park where you can spot huge elephants, troops of baboons and even the occasional warthog.
