Lisbon has a mild and warm climate all year round making it great for a winter break or an escape from summer heat. It’s also one of the hippest cities in Europe at the moment.

Jump on Tram 28 for a tour of the city’s main sights. It climbs up steep hills, around hairpin bends and rattles past incredible views over Lisbon. Head in to the labyrinth of medieval cobble streets to see the Lisbon of old before grabbing a picnic to eat in a praça or town square. Visit the new side of Lisbon with a visit to Parque das Nações, where you can ride a cable car or enjoy the amazing aquarium.

Keep your energy up with a pastel de nata. This traditional Portuguese snack is a delicious combination of creamy custard in a crispy flaky pastry shell. You’ll find them for sale in almost every cafe or bakery.
