DAILY TRAVEL INSPIRATION: Nice

With a pleasant year round climate Nice on the French Riviera is always a popular destination. Visit in the spring to experience the Nice carnival. It’s one of the biggest carnival events in the world, so you can expect spectacular floats, lantern parades and family friendly entertainments along the seafront.

Outside of carnival season the older part of Nice is always popular with tourists. It’s possible to spend an entire visit strolling along the seafront promenades stopping to enjoy delicious food from the many pavement cafes. However head up to the hills of Cimiez for a different side to Nice. There are Roman archaelogical ruins, a Franciscan monestry surrounded by olive groves and fabulous views over the town and seafront.

Nice has attracted many artists over the years and has a strong arts scene as a result. Check out the museums dedicated to Matisse and Chagall or explore modern avant garde artwork at the contemporary art gallery.
