Singapore is often neglected as just a stopover but it has plenty worth seeing. Whether it’s part of a longer trip or a destination in itself, this equatorial city state has lots to recommend it to travelers of all types.

Singapore has long been a trading post and has attracted people from all over the world, leading to a mish-mash of different cultures which makes the city very exciting to explore. The great transport system means getting around is quick and easy. Check out the temples and spice markets in Little India or pick up some delicious snacks in the restaurants of China Town.

Singapore has invested a lot lately in becoming more green and has the vision of being a “city in a garden”. New skyscrapers often feature roof terraces, indoor gardens and landscaped grounds. A particularly spectacular demonstration of this mash up of technology and nature are the Gardens by the Bay. As well as bio-domes and super trees, there are themed gardens, a children’s area and a great selection of sculptures and public artworks.
