Vienna is the capital of Austria and an important city in European history and culture. walk the same streets as Mozart and Beethoven, or swap revolutionary ideas in one of the city’s famous coffee shops.

Vienna has also been the capital of the Holy Roman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Get a glimpse of imperial splendour at the Schönbrunn palace, built by the Hapsburg dynasty. Book on to a tour to see inside some of the palace’s 1441 rooms, or wander around the gardens which are now a public park.

For a taste of modern Vienna, head to the hip 7th district. With cool vintage boutiques and cutting edge art galleries, this is the new heart of cultural Vienna. For a more structured insight in to Austria’s cultural scene, the nearby MuseumsQuartier is a complex of several museums, galleries, restaurants, bars and performance spaces. It’s a great place to discover something new and exciting, whatever your taste.
